7 Things that make you feel stressed, unhappy & drained.
What if everyone else that you think is making you stressed isn't? What if the person who brings you the most stress is you? Yes, all this time you have been stressing yourself out! Today, I want to share with you 7 things that are making you more stressed, unhappy and drained.
1. Influencer lifestyle.
Expensive trips, perfect figures, nice houses, and cars all the glitz and glam of the world. They bombard your feeds every day. You're probably thinking I want this lifestyle. You feel so sad, knowing that it may not happen 😞
Most of what you see on social media is fake. Do you think that influencers are all happy people that wake up every day in an awesome mood, wearing top brands, sipping champagne, and smiling at a camera? We all wished that life was this great, but it isn’t.
The majority of what you see in your feeds are highlight reels. What you don’t see are the real moments that happen when the cameras are off.
There isn’t anyone in the world who doesn’t experience the dull side of life. Influencers don’t show the dull side of life because social media is their fantasy world.
We sometimes get so worked up about wanting a social media reality that doesn’t even exist. We feel so depressed when no one engages with our posts. As if our lives are dependent on likes and views.
It’s good to take a social media detox. Free your mind from all the toxicity. Connect yourself with the real world, where real things happen.
Spend time with those who genuinely love and care about your wellbeing, not people who hide behind filters portraying a fake reality.
2. Holding on to a relationship that isn't going anywhere.
Lately, I read an article that says remaining in a toxic relationship can lead to PTSD. Nothing drains your energy more than fighting for someone who isn't fighting back for you.
Some things stay broken. Don't try to hold on to someone who doesn't want to be kept. You can't keep making someone a priority when you're only an option 😩
If their mind is already gone through the door there's no point in fighting for what isn't there. They have already left. They're only physically present. You can't keep doing this to yourself. You are fighting all by yourself. It takes two to tango!
3. Working an unfulfilling job.
It's another Monday morning and there you are dragging yourself through the door, barely holding it together. You're hoping that the customers will be nice because you're not in the mood for any drama.
Your life shouldn't be like this. Your job should bring at least a sense of fulfillment. If you have to get up every day to a job that you hate.
It's a clear indication that you're not at the right place and more than likely, you are not even giving it your all. It's only for the bills! Look at how miserable you are. Don't keep doing this to yourself!
4. Comparing your life with others.
You'll never have everything that everyone else has and the sooner you accept this the less you'll compare your life with others. We are all on different legs of our journeys through life.
You can't compare yourself with someone who started years ago; when you're only beginning your first step. Focus on what's in your neck of the woods.
The grass isn't always greener on the other side, it's greener where it's watered. Growth takes time to happen, be patient with yourself.
5. Doing something that you know nothing about.
You can't just expect the right results if you are doing the wrong things. It's good to be in the know and when you don't know, seek help from those who do.
Having the right knowledge will save you a lot of stress in life. It will help you to understand risks, make better decisions and learn as you grow.
I remember when I started my dropshipping business with no prior experience and bare minimum knowledge. I had to close my business within a year and I lost all the money I invested.
Knowledge and understanding are always better than common sense. Don't be ashamed to say that you don't know and understand what you're doing.
Whether it's starting a business or anything else. Do proper research, speak to those with experience, and be willing to learn. It will save you a lot of unnecessary stress.
6. Unresolved issues.
Nothing deprives good sleep than having a lot on your mind. The bible says we shouldn't let the sun go down on our wrath.
I know that some things aren't easy to deal with but when they begin to take your restful hours at night. It's something you need to deal with.
Whatever it is that you're going through, speak to someone about it. If it's a more complicated matter, then seek professional help.
Don't keep going to bed rehashing unresolved disputes. Many times those you're at odds with are sound asleep.
They don't have you in their thoughts. They sleep, roll, snore and wake up fresh to take on the day. While you're there sleep-deprived.
You don't need to carry the weight of all their drama to your bed. Enjoy your sleep!
7. Being a people pleaser.
Someone's not gonna like the way you look, walk, talk, dress, etc. There will always be something about you that people don't like. That is their business, not yours. They're the ones that have a problem with you. Let them handle that.
You can't live your life to please others. You will slowly lose yourself. Whatever you do in life be sure it's something that you truly want for yourself.
Whether or not the world approves, it's always what makes you happy that matters most.
These 7 things will deplete your energy. They'll cause you to feel down, miserable, and stressed. You won't always have things going your way, but that doesn't mean that you can't live a happier and more fulfilled life.
I hope that after highlighting these things you'll see how much they can negatively impact your life. Make the rest of your life the best of your life.
