How can I live my life to the fullest every day?
You're only passing this way once. So, shoot your best shot! Life is inherently short. Whichever way we want to look at it, our time on earth will come to an end soon. Many have been asking the question, how do I live my life to the fullest. Should I travel the world? Spend more time with my loved ones. Get a well-paid job, so I can live comfortably or just party and have fun.
Whatever you choose to do, every day you have less time to do so. Before your time on earth expires, and you're ushered six feet beneath the dirt. Live your life!
- Give thanks.
For every minute that you're alive. Someone else is taking their last breath on earth. Be grateful for the breath that is within your body. Give God thanks for each moment that you're alive. Treasure these precious moments and use them wisely.
Spend quality time with your loved ones. Make good memories. Laugh while you can. Forgive yourself and others. Let nothing steal your joy. Give good energy to the universe. Most importantly, put God first in everything that you do. For in him we live, and move, and have our being.
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
- Life is a precious gift.
Your life is yours. God gave you this precious gift. Stop living your life as though it doesn't belong to you. No one can live your life for you. It is your race to run. It is your mountain to climb. It is your mile to walk. It's your story to tell, through the very end.
- Enjoy the view.
When I'm traveling to the country, I enjoy sitting in the back. There, I get to enjoy the wonders of nature. Crisp mountain air, cattle grazing, and lush green trees. They roll by in a flash. When you're in the driver's seat, you don't get to enjoy the view that much.
Our lives are exactly like that. The days roll by in a flash. Sometimes we're so focused on the things that we want to achieve. We never leave the driver's seat. When was the last time you stepped away from your office desk to feel the wind on your skin? When was the last time you rolled down your window and glanced at the beautiful sunset? When was the last time you filled your lungs with some clean morning air? Don't be so busy that you forget to enjoy the view. Nature is filled with breathtaking scenes. They go by in a flash!
- Live good.
Be authentic in everything that you do. Be a real friend. Treat everyone with respect. Apologize when you have wronged others. Take responsibility for your actions. Never defraud anyone.
A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold. Proverbs 22:1
- Put your creativity to work.
Stop feeling as if life is your fairy godmother. Don't live the life of a wishful thinker. I'm waiting for a miracle. I hope something good happens today. What will you do if none of these happen? Will you mope around saying life sucks? Don't wait around for opportunities to come beating at your door. Create them for yourself. Put your brain to work.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
- Live a life less scripted.
Don't expect everything to fall into place, they won't. Some days you'll walk with your head high as if you're on top of your game. Some days the pressures of life will beat you down. You won't have it all panned out. Life doesn't work like that. It doesn't have a remote control. You can't flip through and delete the scenes that you don't like. So, take control of what you can. You can experience each moment. You can choose to pause and reflect. You can learn from your past mistakes and you can keep moving forward.
- Allow time to run its course.
Anticipating what tomorrow brings only adds more stress to your life. It will lead you to overthink and create scenarios of situations that aren't likely to happen. Why are you inviting next week into today? Why are you inviting next year into this year? Allow time to take its course. You don't need to invite tomorrow's worries into today. Center your thoughts on the now. Stay in the here and now!
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34
- Take great care of yourself.
You must take great care of yourself. Everything that concerns you should be your priority. Keep your body and mind in good shape. There are people and things that are detrimental to your well-being. Guard yourself against them. Self-care is the best care.
- Never be a copycat.
Being original is always worth more than a copy. Don't try to be a spin-off version of someone else. You can only be yourself. You don't need to do what everyone else is doing. Don't settle for a wanna-be. Be the original that stands out. It's okay to be different!
